FAQ

Common questions

Do the punters need to install an app?

No. Teams scan a QR code on the big screen and play in the phone's web browser. There's no app, no account and no email address: they pick a team name and play.

What kit does the venue need?

A screen with a web browser (a smart TV, or any TV with a laptop, Chromecast or Fire Stick behind it), the host's phone, and wifi the teams can reach.

How good does the wifi need to be?

Ordinary pub wifi is fine. The pages are small and each answer is a single tap's worth of data; nobody is streaming video. Teams can use their own mobile data instead.

How many teams can play?

There's no fixed limit on any plan. Hosts can cap the number of teams for a night if they want to.

Where do the questions come from?

Three places: you write them; you clone a ready-made quiz from the Bank of Quizzes that every club gets; or the AI quizmaster drafts a themed quiz for you to edit (on Standard and Unlimited plans). You can mix all three in one night.

Can I do picture rounds?

Yes. Upload a photo or paste an image link and it shows big on the screen with the question. Answers are typed or multiple choice, same as any other question.

Who marks the answers?

Multiple choice marks itself on reveal. Typed answers are marked by the host, one tap each. That's deliberate: only a human should decide whether "Freddy Mercury" gets the point.

What happens to the scores and answers afterwards?

You get a full results grid after the night: every team, every question. Results are kept for 60 days and then deleted, teams and answers included. Punters never make accounts, so there's nothing about them to keep.

What does it cost?

Free for a quiz night every 90 days. £4.99 a month for monthly nights, £89.99 a year for as many as you like, or £4.99 a night pay-as-you-go with no subscription at all. Full details on the pricing page.

Can more than one person run quizzes for our club?

Yes. The club owner can add other hosts, so the club secretary can write and run nights without being able to manage members or the plan.

What about music and sound?

Sound effects (timers, reveals) come from the big screen. The teams' phones stay silent by design.
