Terms of service

These terms cover your use of Quiz Night at answersin.club. The service is operated by Brindleford Technologies Ltd, company number 16871436, registered in England and Wales at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ ("we", "us"). By creating a club or using the service you agree to these terms.

1. The service

Quiz Night is a tool for writing and running live quiz nights: questions on a shared screen, teams answering from their phones, scoring and results handled by the service. Quiz players ("teams") join a night through a link or QR code and don't need an account; these terms bind the account holder who runs the club, and you're responsible for the nights you run.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 and give a working email address, which we verify.
  • Keep your password to yourself. Activity under your account is your responsibility; if you think it's been compromised, reset the password (which signs out every session) and tell us.
  • A club owner can add other people ("hosts") to their club and is responsible for who they add.

3. Plans and payment

  • Plans and prices are as described on the pricing page. New clubs start on the Free plan.
  • Online payment isn't live yet: paid plans and pay-as-you-go credits are currently arranged directly with us by email and applied to your club by hand.
  • A night counts against your plan's allowance when it goes live (leaves the lobby), not when it's written. Deleting a night that has gone live doesn't refund it.
  • The Unlimited plan has a fair-use limit of 60 nights a year.
  • We may change prices; existing paid arrangements keep their agreed price until renewal, and we'll give notice before any change affects you.

4. Your content

  • Your quizzes (questions, answers, images) remain yours. You give us permission to store them and show them to your teams, which is what running the service means.
  • You're responsible for having the right to use what you upload, particularly images in picture rounds.
  • The AI quiz generator produces drafts for you to review. Check them before the night: we don't guarantee generated questions are accurate.
  • Teams type answers during a night. What they type is between the venue and the room; we delete it automatically 60 days after the night.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use the service for anything unlawful, don't upload content you have no right to share, don't attempt to reach other clubs' data, and don't abuse the service (including automated signups or attempts to overload it). We can suspend or close accounts that do.

6. Availability and liability

  • We aim to keep the service reliable, but it's provided as-is, with no guarantee of uninterrupted availability. Run-throughs before an important night are a good idea.
  • To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that can't legally be excluded.

7. Ending things

  • You can stop using the service at any time. Email us to close your account and we'll delete it, your club, and its content.
  • We can suspend or close accounts that breach these terms. If we ever discontinue the service, we'll give reasonable notice.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. Material changes will be announced by email to account holders. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
